Hey everybody!  The video version of the Loaded Question is out on YouTube now.  In this edition, we ask people “What sounds dirty but isn’t?”  You can check it out on our YouTube Channel HERE.

Also, we have some more photos from the Mobile Roller Derby’s Zombie Pub Crawl that they did to promote thier bout this Saturday.  You can check those out plus more photos HERE.

This is a Test

Wednesday, October 1st, 2008

Hey everybody.  I finally started a flickr account.  The idea is to use this account to post more photos from Lagniappe online.  I already have one slideshow made as a trial.  Its from the Fetish party at Haley’s back in 2005.

If you like this, please check out our flickr page or check out this blog for photo from Bayfest.  I will be posting all weekend long (one of the joys of living next to the event site)  If this goes well, expect to see more of these.

CHECK OUT THE SLIDE SHOW HERE

The many faces of Tom Waits

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

Hey everybody.  I got to shoot the Tom Waits show at the Saenger last night.  It was one of the better concerts I’ve seen in my life. I don’t think I captured it in my images though.  I was restricted to the VIP section of the Saenger on the second floor and was not able to move around and get the variety of images I usually prefer from an assignment.  I also was not able to really capture much of the stage decor from my angle.  Most of my shots are resticted to tight shots of Tom’s face, although I added a sepia tone to several photos just because.

Anyway, double click the pictures and let me know what you think Mobile.

Short Slideshow on 15 Place

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

Here is a short slideshow I created concerning 15 Place, one of the Homeless Shelters in Mobile. Its about a minute long and worth your time.

For some reason our blog will not take the embed code, so you can view it here.

Statues and Courts

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

During my off days I find some pretty interesting stuff on the web. After our own state’s ordeal with idolatry I believe my home state of Tennessee might have to go through the same thing soon.

Wilco

Monday, March 3rd, 2008

Like I promised in my first post, I was going to expand on photos shot in the issue. Below you will see some photos from the Wilco show here in Mobile. I’m not a huge fan myself, but I it was a good shoot. I wish I had some interesting story to with these photos, but it was a pretty cut and dry concert shoot. Great turn out in the crowd (most of the tickets had sold by the afternoon before the show). Anyway, let me know what you think of the shots.

SPECIAL NOTE: Double click on the photos to see a larger version.

First Impressions

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

Ever since I moved downtown 2 1/2 years ago I have been waiting for someone to open a good coffee shop in my area that wasn’t Starbucks. Well now the wait is up.

I am currently in the newly opened Serda’s Coffee Company on Royal Street in downtown Mobile. While I have only enjoyed their Mocha Latte and scone they seem to have a good selection of wraps and paninis. They also offer ice cream, a good selection of bottled beer and my personal favorite, Guinness, is on tap. Add that on to the free wi-fi and I now have a new place to work on the days I’m not shooting.

Don’t look at this as a full review, but if you live or work in the downtown Mobile area then give the place a try.

Looking towards the future

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

Well its nice to see this added to the website. I don’t have much to add right now, but keep an eye on this space. Hopefully this will give David and I a way to expand the work we have in Lagniappe (in case you haven’t noticed, there is not a lot of room for photography in the print edition). It’ll be great for things like Bayfest and Mardi Gras, were we can display more then the two or three photos that end up in the issue.

I not only plan to post pictures from shoots here, but I’ll also talk about what happened while I made the photos (like the time I got molested by a furry while covering a sports event).

I also have some projects that I hope to display here, but the less said about those for now the better.

-Cheers
