It's still there in Fairfield - Richard M. Scrushy Pkwy
but I've heard it will probably be renamed Karl Rove Lane
this autumn when the zoning commission entertains street
name amendments.

When I first moved to LA, some decades ago, I noticed that many roads and bridges here are named for
living persons. In my native Pennsylvania, bridges were "Memorial" bridges named for someone
distinguished, but deceased. Those deceased folks have very little chance to cause us to be embarrassed
enough to want to rename a bridge or a road. My guess is that Jimmy Buffett probably won't embarrass us, but
whatever happened to Richard Scrushy Blvd. in the Birmingham area?

Let's make a deal. If Jimmy will open a Margaritaville Cafe or
Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurant in Mobile, we'll salute him
with a bronze!
