Geeze, you've just outed a whole genre of metal . . . I hope you're
unlisted . . .

I can imagine the conversations DB must have had over the impending
hurricane.

"Dude, it could blow us the f**kin away."

"Dude, we're going to die if we go there."

"Man, they're not paying us enough to take that
risk. I'll quit if you try to make me go to Tampa."

But I guess it's behind the scenes show business . . .and we now
publicly forgive them their transgression? Hopefully this blog won't
get snatched up by Metal Hammer.

Want to hear something else funny? A few years ago I was working on
a book about metal music and decided I wanted to interview Glen Benton.
Doing a little research on the net I discovered he had registered his
own name, GlenBenton.com. This was before privacy registrations.

His address and phone number were listed in the internet whois record,
so I called and guess who answered the phone? He sounded confused,
wanted to know how I got his phone number, and I told him and that
I had his address to. He was calm but a little shaken, which you can
imagine if you were he and one of your songs was named Kill the
Christian. But I selfishly took some pleasure in my frighting of
him, told all my friends and we had a laugh. Glen, if you're reading
this it's all good, right? Right?
