Mayor raises
Hot stuff here in ESho-land. Local politico to get 200 percent pay raise. Excites envy on Goat Hill. They only got 62 percent and had to take a lot of flak for it. But in my latest column I say Two hundred percent – a high-value investment in Fairhope’s political future and a bargain at twice the price.

For once the Mobile P-R (Professional-Rag) got it right on the editorial page:
Mayor Tim Kant is playing below-the-belt grubby politics — he’s not concerned about the pay raise (no problem with paying the new town electrician more than the new pay scale for mayor)He’s just trying to hang on to his two pay checks from Fairhope and id hiding his power-hunger and money-grubbing behind being a careful spender. What a load!

Still don’t pay the city coucillors enough for those awful jobs!! Don’t know who’d want them anyway.
